The Western Society of Weed Science Noxious Weed Short Course
The Short Course is an intensive study of current technologies and best practices associated with noxious and invasive weeds in the Western United States.
Each year’s course is tailored to the interests of that year’s participants based on a pre-course survey.
The course will stress ecologically-based plant management and include monitoring and assessment, prevention, cultural, mechanical and chemical plant management. Classroom, laboratory, and field exercises will be utilized and the program is designed to encourage interaction between instructors and participants.
The Short Course will target local, state, federal government, and other land managers throughout the western region who desire a better understanding of weed management. The course is designed to benefit both those new to invasive plant management and experienced professionals seeking a comprehensive update in western invasive weeds and their management.
